Vocals by: Misa Melo - I'm a Believer
In this sample, we have both processed and unprocessed parts of the same vocal sample.
The first example is a vocal part recorded with a Blue Blueberry mic though a Focusrite channel strip with very little compression (to control peaks). You can hear low frequency noise, room noise, and headphone bleed...
The second example, you can see in the waveform, has been ran through a noise reduction tool. 2nd we have a Gate/Expander tool fine tuned to cut the natural room reverb and other noise too loud for the noise reduction tool.
Why is it important to clean up your track?
In the mixing stage, compressors are used to control audio levels. They do so by lowering loud peaks and also by raising low volumes. An uncleaned track, compressed, will bring up the noise.

Here we will show all kinds of differant processes we do to differant types of recordings and situations. We will break down the how and why of all the samples.
